Track progress toward a target with a goal widget

Set a monthly, quarterly or yearly goal, and follow the progress percentage with a status color, the remaining amount and the number of days left.

Edit access to the dashboard
  • You need: Edit access to the dashboard

Steps

1
In Edit layout, press Add widget, choose Goal and press Continue. Then choose the unit.
2
Choose the Measure: Count or Sum (with a number or currency field).
3
Choose the Goal period: Month, Quarter or Year.
4
Under Target per period, type the target for each period (such as September 2026), and in Target a default for the periods you didn’t set.
Numbers are in decimal format, without separators.
5
Set the two color thresholds, Warning at (0–100%) and Success at (1–200%), press Continue, then press Add widget.

When the goal shows

The goal only shows when the dashboard’s date range covers whole periods: “This month” or “This quarter” works with a monthly goal. “Last 7 days” doesn’t cover a whole month, so the number shows without the progress bar. The system doesn’t split the goal across days.

If the range covers several periods (such as a quarter with a monthly goal), each month’s target is added up. If a month has no target and there’s no default target, the goal doesn’t show.

Reaching a threshold exactly gives the higher color. The progress shown stops at 999.9%.

Remaining = the target − progress (never below zero). Days left counts to the last day of the goal period that includes today, and is zero on the last day. A monthly goal shown on “This quarter” counts down to the end of the month.

There’s one goal for the workspace. If you see only your own records, the progress is yours and the target is the workspace’s. Amounts in other currencies aren’t counted in progress, and show separately.

If something goes wrong

What you see
Why
What to do
The number shows without the progress bar
The range doesn’t cover whole periods, or a target is missing.
Choose “This month”, or add a default target.
“The goal key doesn’t match the period”
You typed a quarterly target in a monthly widget.
Match the period format.
Days left is empty
The chosen range has ended (such as last month).
That’s expected.

A real example

Namaa Academy
The situation

A goal of 120 enrollments a month.

What they did
  1. Goal: Count on the enrollments unit, monthly period, default target 120.
  2. Warning at 60%, success at 100%.
The result

On day 20 it shows “85 of 120 · 35 to go · 10 days”, so they launch a follow-up campaign.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

Measure: Count or Sum only.
Warning percentage 0–100, and success percentage 1–200.
In templates, the goal comes without a number until an editor adds one.
