Save your dashboard as a template for your team
Turn a dashboard that works well into a template your teammates install on their own units, after you choose which units and fields change.
Before you start · for owners and managers
Edit access to the dashboard + “Create dashboards”
- You need: Edit access to the dashboard + “Create dashboards”
Steps
1Open the dashboard, press the ⋯ menu and choose Save as template.
2Type the Name (1–120 characters) and the Description (up to 500 characters), and choose the Category (default: General).
3Under What people connect when they use it, check the list: each unit and field In this dashboard becomes a slot (Becomes the slot).
Whoever installs the template picks their own unit or field for each slot.
4Rename a slot if you want (up to 80 characters), so the next person knows what to pick.
5Press Save template. Members find it under its category when they create a dashboard.
How it works
A template takes only the widgets the viewer sees, without outdated or hidden widgets.
A value is replaced by its slot only when it exactly matches a reference you connected, not when it’s part of a longer text.
HTML embed widgets and links are saved as they are, with nothing replaced.
Default filters and the stage field are saved with the template and connected the same way.
Deleting a template
Only the template’s creator or the workspace owner can delete it. Deleting a template doesn’t affect the dashboards installed from it.

A real example
The situation
3 branches, each with its own contracts unit.
What they did
- They saved the Riyadh branch’s dashboard as a template with 2 slots: “Contracts unit” and “Value field”.
The result
The Jeddah and Dammam branches installed the same dashboard on their own units in a minute.
A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.
Good to know
Up to 200 templates per workspace. 1–20 slots, and 100 connections at most. A slot key uses lowercase English letters, digits and underscores, starts with a letter, and has up to 40 characters. Did this guide solve it?
If not, we’ll ask what was missing.
