Transfer workspace ownership to another member
Hand the workspace over to an active member after confirming it’s you. Billing moves to them, and you keep working with the Admin role without losing access.

- You need: The workspace owner only
- The new owner is an active member with a Corteksa account. See Edit a member, change their roles or deactivate them.
Steps

Open Settings, and under Owner zone choose Transfer ownership. Or, in Settings → Members, choose Make workspace owner in the member’s row menu.

Under New owner, choose the member who will take over the workspace.

Confirm it’s you with your password, or by signing in again with Google or Apple if your account is a Google or Apple account.
Your open session isn’t enough on its own, because a transfer is as serious as a deletion.

Choose Transfer ownership.
The member becomes the owner, you get the permissions of the default Admin role, and both of you get an email about the transfer.
You can’t take ownership back yourself after the transfer. Only the new owner can give it back to you.
How it works
The owner changes in one step, so the workspace is never left without an owner, or with two owners, even for a moment.
The role you get is the Admin role as it is in your workspace, without any change to its matrix. If it’s an older workspace with no default Admin role, you only keep your current roles.
You can transfer ownership even while the workspace is in read-only mode.

The member isn’t active.
Activate them from Edit a member, change their roles or deactivate them.
“The user isn’t linked to an account and can’t take over billing”
The member has no Corteksa sign-in identity.
Invite them with their own account from Invite a teammate to your workspace by email, or contact support.
“You already own this workspace”
You chose yourself.
Choose another member.
“Ownership changed during the transfer”
Another transfer happened at the same moment.
Refresh the page and try again.
Good to know
Only the current owner can do this, and it doesn’t work while you’re signed in on behalf of another user.
Up to 5 attempts a minute.
A deactivated member can’t receive ownership.
