Test your distribution rules with a sample client

Enter a source and field values for a sample client, and you see every rule in its order and why it matched or didn’t, who is eligible, and who was left out and why. Nothing is assigned.

4 min

Lead distribution is a paid Add-on. If you can’t find it in your account, contact support to turn it on.

Steps

1
Open the Simulate tab on the Distribution Engine page.
2
Choose the Cortex Unit.
3
Choose a Source if you want, and under Field Values, press Add Field for each field your conditions care about and enter its value.
4
Press Run Simulation.
The result shows straight away, without any assignment or change to the turn or the counts.

What it shows

Part
What it means
All Rules Evaluated
Every rule in its order, with its points: whether the source matched, then the sessions, then the conditions.
Matched Rule
The first rule that matched, with its specificity.
Eligible
Who can get the client right now.
Excluded
With the reason: not active, outside working hours, over the hourly or daily limit.
Would assign to
An example of an eligible employee.

The simulation uses the current time, so the working-hours result differs between morning and night.

The name in “Would assign to” is the first eligible employee on the list; the actual employee is decided by the turn or the shares at the moment the client arrives.

If the first rule matches and no one is eligible, the simulation stops there. Real distribution with the “Leave Unassigned” fallback moves on to the next rule.

If something goes wrong

What you see
Why
What to do
“No matching rule found”
The source, the sessions or the conditions don’t apply.
Read each rule’s reason and edit it.
All the assignees are excluded
They’re outside their shift, or full right now.

A real example

Namaa Academy
The situation

A client from Jeddah asking about the diploma went to the Riyadh employee.

What they did
  1. In the simulation, they entered: City Jeddah, Course Diploma.
  2. It showed that the Jeddah rule didn’t match, because the city option was spelled “Jedda”.
The result

They corrected the value in the rule, ran the simulation again, and it matched.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

It doesn’t create or assign anything.
It stops at the first matching rule.
