Send lead form clients’ stages to Meta
Turn on your Facebook forms Page and choose the dataset. After that, every stage a client from this Page’s forms enters is sent to Meta under the stage’s name, so Meta targets people like the clients who move forward.
This feature may not be turned on for your account yet — contact support to turn it on.
Before you start · 2 things · for ownersAn active Meta Ads connection with ad accounts, a Facebook Page connected for lead forms
- You need: Manage the Meta Ads connection
- An active Meta Ads connection with ad accounts.
- A connected Facebook Page for lead ad forms.
Steps
What’s sent
Every stage in the unit’s status field that the client enters, under its name as it is, such as “Qualified” or “Won”. There’s no mapping table here. Each name is sent once per client; if you rename the stage after it was sent, the new name is sent again.
This covers clients whose first ad is a Facebook or Instagram form only. Creating the client itself isn’t sent, because Meta already knows about it.
Eligibility
Meta needs about 200 clients a month from the Page to improve ads with stages. A notice shows under the Page if it has fewer, but you can still turn it on.
Turning sending off keeps the dataset, so you don’t need to choose it again. A client who entered a stage while the Page was off isn’t sent later.
Events show in the Event log tab with the “Lead form” channel. See Tell Meta when a chat ad client buys or reaches a stage for what the states mean.
If something goes wrong
A real example
Their forms bring 600 clients a month, and a third of them are wrong numbers.
- They turned on the Page and chose the academy’s pixel.
Meta learns from the “Qualified” and “Enrolled” stages, so there are fewer clients who aren’t serious.
