Stop the follow-up automatically when the goal is reached

The Stop when the goal is reached setting ends a waiting run straight away when the record matches conditions you set, or when the client replies. No reminders for a client who has already acted.

Steps

1
Open the automation and press Settings.
2
Turn on Stop when the goal is reached, and choose The goal.
The record matches conditions, or They replied.
3
For conditions: add them as in Conditions: operators, relative dates, messages and language, such as “Stage is Won”.
4
Wait for All changes saved, or press Publish if the automation is on.

How it works

The goal works on runs waiting at a delay, an approval or a wait for a reply.

The run ends as “Completed — reached the goal”, and it doesn’t count as a failure.

The goal is checked on every change to the record, even an automatic one, and when the run wakes up.

They replied watches the trigger’s chat and every chat the automation sent on.

A pending approval in that run no longer needs an answer.

It works even if the automation is turned off.

A real example

The situation

A follow-up series of 3 messages keeps going for a client who has already enrolled.

What they did
  1. The goal: the stage equals “Enrolled”.
  2. A message, then a 2-day delay, then a second message, then a 3-day delay, then a third.
The result

The messages stop the moment the client enrolls.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

A goal on record conditions needs a trigger whose runs work on a record.
