Edit a group’s name, photo, settings and invite link
Change a group’s name, description and photo, let only admins send messages or edit the group’s info, and get or revoke the invite link, all from Cortex Chat.

Groups turned on and your number as a group admin
- You need: The Update permission on the WhatsApp Groups row, and your number is an admin of the group
- Groups are turned on, and your number is an admin of the group.
Steps

Open the group, then Group info.

Press Edit, change the Group name or Description, and save.

Press Change picture and choose a JPEG or PNG image, or press Remove picture.

Under Group settings, turn on Only admins can send messages or Only admins can edit group info, as you need.

View the Invite link and copy it.
Share it with anyone you want to join.

Press Revoke link if it leaks.
The old link stops working, and a new link is created.
How it works
Every change shows as a notice inside the chat, such as “Group name changed”. A change made from a phone shows the same way, and the notice doesn’t repeat if the value didn’t actually change.

- The coordinator turned on Only admins can send messages.
- She changed the description to the course schedule, then revoked the old invite link once registration was complete.

Good to know
The name can be up to 100 characters.
The description can be up to 2,048 characters.
The photo must be JPEG or PNG, up to 5 MB.
Every setting needs your number to be an admin.
