Turn on WhatsApp groups and bring them into Cortex Chat
Turn on the groups option for a number, and its groups are imported in the background and show in the Groups tab. Groups don’t create client records or run automations.
This feature may not show in every account’s interface yet. Groups are off by default for every number.

You need: The Update permission on the WhatsApp Web row
A WhatsApp Web session that’s Working.
Steps

In Cortex Chat, open the settings menu, press Session features and choose the session.

Turn on Group chats.
The import starts straight away and shows its progress, such as “Importing groups… 12 of 52”.

Wait for it to finish.
“Imported 52 groups” shows, or “Imported 47 of 52 groups, 5 failed”.

Open the Groups tab in Cortex Chat. One-to-one chats stay in their usual tab.

Part of the import failed? Press Retry failed groups, or Import groups now. Every import is safe to repeat.
What shows in a group?
The name of each message’s writer, mentions, and notices of who joined, left, was promoted or was demoted, plus changes to the name, description and settings. These notices count as unread, but they don’t send an alert.

You get one only when your number is mentioned or someone replies to your message

When do groups update?
When you turn them on, every time the number reconnects, and when you import by hand. Any event from a group that isn’t there yet brings that group in automatically. The progress stays visible for up to 24 hours.
Who sees groups?
Groups have their own row in the roles matrix, named WhatsApp Groups. For every role, this row started with the same levels as WhatsApp Web.

Sending in a group and admin actions need Update, leaving needs Delete, and creating a group needs Create on the groups row.
Turning it off
Turning the option off hides this number’s groups from the tab and stops receiving their messages. Nothing is deleted, and turning it back on brings them back.
