Relation field: link a record to records in another unit

A cell that shows the linked records by their name and display columns. You create it from the Relations tab, not from Add Field.

2 min

How it works

Create the relation once, as in Link units with relations, and the field shows in both units.

Choose the linked records from the picker. It searches and pages through even thousands of records.

Renaming a record shows right away in every relation cell.

It doesn’t accept a default value or a conditional requirement, and it isn’t copied when fields are duplicated.

Lookup and Rollup fields are built on it.

Good to know

Up to 1,000 links in one save.
