Organize units in folders

Group related units into folders such as “Sales” and “Operations” to keep the sidebar tidy. A folder only organizes.

The permission to edit units
  • You need: The permission to edit units

Steps

1
In the sidebar, next to Units, press New Folder, type the Folder Name and choose the Icon.
2
Drag units into the folder in the sidebar.
3
Drag the folders to reorder them.
4
To take a unit out of a folder, drag it out of the folder.
The unit goes back to the list without a folder.

How it works

A folder doesn’t change permissions or data. Each unit belongs to one folder only, and folders can’t be nested.

You can duplicate a whole folder with its units. See Duplicate a unit or folder, with or without its records.

The situation

The sidebar is crowded with units: clients, courses, payments, trainers, rooms.

What they did
  1. A “Sales” folder for clients and payments.
  2. A “Training” folder for courses, trainers and rooms.
The result

Every employee finds their units in seconds.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

A folder’s name is 1 to 100 characters, and can’t repeat (upper and lower case count as the same).
Deleting a folder doesn’t delete its units: they just leave the folder.
