Pick products from a price list with a Smart Catalog field
Make a field that picks records from another unit, such as products or services, in a picker with real columns: name, price and stock.
Before you start · 1 thing · for ownersA source unit with the records, such as “Products”
- You need: The permission to edit units
- A source unit that holds the records, such as “Products”.
Steps
In the record
The picker opens with your columns, with search and paging however long the list is. You only see the source records your permissions let you see.
Amounts show with their currency code, dates in your time zone, and options in their colors.
Deleting a product later doesn’t spoil old records: the name saved in the record stays, with a (removed) tag. See Edit catalog lines in a record: name, unit, columns, discount.
Display columns
They must be active fields in the source, and not a relation or a lookup. Deactivating a display field in the source stops the catalog settings from being saved until you remove it.
In documents, the line items show as a table, with the subtotal, the tax and the total.
