The Round Robin method: equal turns

Round Robin: each new client goes to the next employee on the list, then the turn goes back to the first. The simplest and fairest when the team is equal.

3 min

Lead distribution is a paid Add-on. If you can’t find it in your account, contact support to turn it on.

How it works

The assignees: A, B, C. Client 1 → A, client 2 → B, client 3 → C, client 4 → A.

The turn moves only among the employees who are eligible when the client arrives. An employee outside their working hours, or full, is skipped, and isn’t made up for later.

Each rule and each scenario has its own turn. Manual distribution through a rule moves that same rule’s turn, so the rotation stays in order.

When to use it

Use it
Avoid it
A team equal in experience and capacity.
You want different shares: use The Weighted Fair method: exact shares over time.
You want to predict who gets the next one.
Employees are often away and you want to make it up to them later: Weighted Fair makes up for it.

A real example

Basma Clinics
The situation

3 front-desk employees in Dammam with the same experience.

What they did
  1. A Round Robin rule for the three employees.
The result

Each one gets one booking out of every three.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

Skips aren’t made up.
Adding or removing an employee changes the rotation from the current point.
