The Percentage method: random distribution by weight

Percentage: for each client, an employee is drawn at random according to the shares. Over the long run it gets close to the shares, but with small numbers it can look uneven.

Lead distribution is a paid Add-on. If you can’t find it in your account, contact support to turn it on.

How it works

Each client is a separate draw: someone with 60% has a 60% chance for every client, no matter who got the one before.

If an employee is away, their share is spread over the ones present, and it isn’t made up when they’re back.

For accuracy, use Weighted Fair. Percentage suits you when an exact match doesn’t matter.

A real example

Shield Security Co.
The situation

They want a rough split between two teams for small requests.

What they did
  1. A Percentage rule at 50/50.
The result

Over the month, the numbers came close, and that was enough for them.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

Shares are between 1 and 100, and the total is 100.
Nothing is made up after an absence.
