Save a template, handle edit conflicts, and delete a template

Each save raises the template’s version number. If a teammate saved before you, your save is refused and you see who saved and when, so nobody’s work is lost.

The permission to edit or delete document templates
  • You need: The permission to edit or delete document templates

Steps

1
Press Save after editing.
2
If Someone else saved a newer version shows, press Review.
The A newer version exists window shows who saved and when. Your edits stay in the editor.
3
Choose Keep theirs to drop your edits, or Save mine as a copy to keep both versions.

Deleting a template is permanent and can’t be undone. Automations that use it fail at that step until you choose another template. Documents saved in records stay.

How it works

Of 2 saves sent on the same version, only one succeeds. That way, one save never cancels another.

The message reads, for example: “Maryam saved this document 3 minutes ago”, or “You saved this document in another tab”.

The list of templates shows who last edited each template.

The template’s thumbnail updates automatically after you edit the content.

There’s no history of earlier versions to restore by hand. Automatic restore happens only when AI writing fails.

The situation

Two employees edit the offer template at the same time.

What they did
  1. The first one saved, then the second tried to save and saw her teammate’s name.
  2. The second one copied her paragraph, reloaded, then pasted it back.
The result

Neither of their edits was lost.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.
