Write the template’s content in the document editor
Write as you would in Word: headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, columns, images and page breaks. Insert fields by typing {{ and elements by typing /.
Before you start · 1 thing · for owners and managersA template you’ve created
- You need: The permission to edit document templates
- A template you’ve created. See Create a new document template.
Steps
{{ to show the list of fields, and choose a field./ to insert an element: a table, an image, a line items table, a barcode, a chart or a page break. What you can write
What you see is what prints
The editor and the printed file use the same fonts and the same layout rules. Multiple spaces you type print as they are, and an empty line at the end of a paragraph prints.
Pasting from Word
When you paste from Word, negative indents that push text outside the page margin are removed. The hanging indent of numbered items stays only as deep as the paragraph’s own indent. This stops every page of the PDF from being scaled down.
Fonts
If you choose a font, the Tajawal font is added after it as a fallback, so no character shows without a font. The full list is in Set the document’s styles and fonts.
If something goes wrong
A real example
The quote is long, with numbered terms pasted from Word.
- They pasted the terms from Word, and they stayed inside the margin.
- The price table repeats its header row.
- A page break before “Terms and conditions”.
A 4-page quote that prints neatly, with the header at the top of every table page.
