“Typing...” and “online”: what the client sees, and what you see
When you type, the client sees “typing...” on the channels that support it. On WhatsApp Web, you also see when the client is typing or recording, or was online.

What you see
On WhatsApp Web only, you see the client’s status: typing..., recording..., recording audio..., online and last seen {time}. The other channels don’t send this status.

The situation
A patient asks about an appointment while the receptionist looks through the schedule.
What they did
- The patient saw “typing...” while she searched.
The result
The patient waited for the reply instead of calling the clinic.

Good to know
The typing status on WhatsApp Cloud disappears after 25 seconds.
