The move screen sorts the fields into sections. For each field that doesn’t move automatically, choose the target value or skip it, match the options, map it to an existing field, create it in the target, or copy from another field.
Fields that match in both units. Their values move automatically; the section starts closed
Values of and the field’s name
One row for each option the records use, with how many records carry it. Choose the matching option in the target, or Drop this value
Mappable Fields
Fields whose value can’t move as it is. Choose the value for the target field, or tick Skip this field
Source-Only Fields
Fields with no match in the target. Pick a field under Map to existing field, or Don’t map, or turn on Create in target. Select All turns it on for all of them
Required Target Fields
Fields the target requires. Type a value, or pick a source field under Copy from field
Optional Target Fields
The target’s other fields, filled in the same way. The section starts closed
Relations
The record’s links: Kept in a matching relation, moved to the relation you choose, Drop these links, or Will be lost
A section with nothing in it doesn’t show.
What each choice does
Choice
What it does
A value in Mappable Fields
Puts that value in the target field
Skip this field
Doesn’t move this field
Copy from field
Fills the target field from a field in the source, record by record
An option in Values of
Each record with that option gets the target option you chose
Drop this value
The records with that option arrive with the field empty
Map to existing field
Copies the source field into the target field you pick
Create in target
The missing field is created (or a field with the same name is used), then the values are copied into it
A relation in Relations
The target relation you choose takes the source relation’s links
Which choice wins
If a field gets a value from more than one choice: shared → the value chosen in Mappable Fields → the matched option → the copied field → the value typed in the target fields (the last one wins). A chosen value doesn’t replace a value that moved automatically.
Matching options automatically
Options are matched by the same option, then by Meta ads ID, then by name. Archived options in the target aren’t matched.
All values are checked against the target fields’ rules before the move.
If something goes wrong
What you see
Why
What to do
“The mapped values aren’t valid for the target unit”
A value breaks the type or a rule of a target field.
Review the errors listed and change your choice.
“Can’t copy from a field that doesn’t exist in the source”
The field was deleted.
Choose another field.
“The relation can’t take that relation’s links”
The relation you chose links a different unit or type.
Choose a relation with the same unit and type.
A real example
Shield Security Co.
The situation
Moving accepted “Quotes” to “Contracts”.
What they did
Under Copy from field, they picked “Quote value” for “Contract value”.
In Values of Stage, they matched “Accepted” to the “New” stage.
They turned on Create in target for “Quote number”.
The result
Every contract carries its quote number and value, with no manual entry.
A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.
Good to know
Up to 1,000 option matches per job.
Creating a field happens once per job, and can’t be undone.
Copying from an empty cell into a required field refuses that record.
