Dashboard access levels and role permissions
Three layers: role permissions (who can use dashboards at all), the access level on each dashboard (Owner, Can edit, View only), and unit permissions, which decide the numbers inside widgets.
Dashboards may not be turned on for your account yet. Contact support to turn them on.
Role permissions
The default Admin role has all four. Roles that used dashboards before have “View”. Viewer roles have none of them until you grant them.
Access level on each dashboard
The workspace owner and super admins have edit access to every dashboard, and can delete and transfer ownership. When the support team signs in on the owner’s behalf to fix a dashboard, they see what the owner sees, and the visit is logged.
The third layer: the numbers
A dashboard’s access level doesn’t change the numbers. Each widget is calculated with your level on its unit (Allowed, Team-wide access, If responsible, Denied). Exporting uses the lower of what you can see and the export permission on the unit.
If the role doesn’t have “View dashboards”, the whole section disappears. Action buttons you don’t have permission for don’t show.
In the subscription’s read-only mode, you can open dashboards, see details, preview and export, but you can’t edit (Your subscription: the trial, its states and read-only mode).
